A foam fire truck is a type of fire vehicle primarily equipped with a fire pump, water tank, foam liquid tank, and a water-foam mixing system. It is commonly referred to as a "foam truck."
The foam fire truck is mainly used for extinguishing flammable liquid fires, such as petroleum and its derivatives, with foam as the primary extinguishing agent and water as a secondary option. Additionally, it can supply water or foam mixture to the fire scene to enhance firefighting effectiveness.
The foam fire truck is an upgraded version of the water tank fire truck, retaining the hydraulic system and main equipment of the latter while incorporating a foam extinguishing system.
Depending on the type of foam mixing method, foam fire trucks are equipped with a foam liquid tank, foam mixer, pressure balance valve, foam liquid pump, and foam monitor and cannons to achieve more efficient firefighting operations.
